About this event

Mindfulness – What is it and how can it help?

Practicing mindfulness-based activities and concepts can help us develop our abilities to pay attention and focus in the present moment, and improve our moods and coping abilities. In this brief presentation, participants will learn about mindfulness and how they can make it part of daily living. Specifically, we will practice a mindful-eating activity. *Please bring something small to eat with you to the session. For example, a raisin.

Dr. Diana Coholic is a mental health practitioner and researcher, and Full Professor in Laurentian University’s social work program. Her professional and academic expertise includes arts-based practices, mindfulness, group work, trauma, and child/youth mental health.
