Meet Our Staff

A little bit about myself, I have over 20 years’ experience both within the non-profit and private sector, managing a variety of groups of people within various industries. I made the choice to work within the non-profit sector to make a difference in people’s lives. Wanting to be able to provide a better life for the future generations in our community.

At the Sudbury Women’s Centre I have been hired as the Executive Director. I play a crucial role in supporting the services through accounting and financial matters. I complete multiple grant and funding operations and work directly with funders and sponsors. Meeting with community partners is another important element in my position; always looking for partnerships to strengthen our community.

Tracy Speirs has received a Diploma from the Social Service Work program as well as the Business and Administration program at Cambrian College. Tracy has had many significant roles within The Sudbury Women’s Centre such as Fundraising Coordinator, Intake Worker, and Executive Director. Her current role with the Centre is as Program Coordinator. Tracy facilitates various programs such as Self-Compassion and Domestic Violence. Tracy also currently facilitates the Caring Dads program through the Continuum Care Program. She has participated in various community groups such as Greater Sudbury’s Community Network, The Coalition to End Violence Against Women, CEVAW Women’s Advisory Group, City of Lakes IODE, BNI, and Indigenous Women’s Working Group.

Kaylyn Edens is currently an Outreach Worker with the Sudbury Women’s Centre. She offers support to clients which is conducted in the form of guiding and referring clients to various community resources depending on their needs and goals and assisting clients with safety planning. Kaylyn began with the centre working reception at the front desk and then accepted a position as a client support worker. She is now starting a new position as outreach worker, facilitating various programs at the Centre which emphasize models of empowerment and healing to women who have survived challenging life experiences. Kaylyn will be working with various partners in the Northern Ontario region to bridge the gap in resources that exist for human trafficking survivors. Previously, Kaylyn worked as a Youth Worker at L’association des jeunes de la rue. She has received an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in Thanatology and Childhood and Social Institutions.

Rae-Anne received her degree in Speech communication from the University of Waterloo and is currently completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. As the Development Officer, Rae-Anne is responsible for planning, developing, and executing the advancement of programs in support of the Sudbury Women’s Centre’s strategic plan. Rae-Anne is passionate about sharing the great work of the Sudbury Women’s Centre and is so happy to be making a difference in her community.

Kasandra Henry first joined the Sudbury Women’s Centre as a Marketing Intern, having recently graduated from the Communications program at Huntington University. Now our Communications Coordinator, she brings with her a talent for connecting new audiences through social media marketing, and her focus on development is clearly reflected through the Centre’s growing online presence. Her keen eye for design and focus on branding have proven an invaluable asset, and her passion for the work she does is evident. She is thrilled to be working in the non-profit sector, as it has always been a goal of hers to offer her skills for the betterment of the community.
