The Sudbury Women’s Centre is celebrating the season with a large gift from the Canadian Tire store on Regent Street, receiving a generous donation on behalf of the store and its staff.

“We’re so pleased to donate to the Sudbury Women’s Centre and support the work they do to help women and families in our community,” Steve Mann, associate dealer, said Thursday. “Our company is committed to being there for Canadians, and especially at Christmas, we want to help the SWC be there for those who need it most.”

The holiday season can be an especially challenging time for families struggling to make ends meet.

“This donation will make a huge difference in the lives of the women we serve, as well as their families,” said Giulia Carpenter, executive director of the women’s centre. “We’re so grateful to receive this kind of incredible support from our business community. It is vital to us continuing to offer services, supports and basic needs items to our clients, completely free of charge.”

Moving into 2022, the Sudbury Women’s Centre is also inviting the community to consider becoming a monthly donor as a part of its New Year’s resolutions.

With more than 545 clients, including more than 260 new clients, the Sudbury Women’s Centre provides life-changing services and referrals to women facing difficult life circumstances.
